This thing made my reception worse. After hooking it up I got slightly better signal on channel 2 and 4, but completely lost channels 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and all channels above 13. I live in New York City almost all of these stations transmit from the Empire State Building so the distance to the transmitter is the same.

I'm no expert on television signal transmission, but I don't think it is meant for HDTV (digital signals) as it says in the title. I say this because the instruction say that FM interference shows up as a herringbone pattern on the screen, but with digital tuners, you don't get those type of interference patterns. You either get a perfect HD picture, a pixelated picture, or you don't get a picture at all. There are not interference patterns.

I removed it, shortened my cable length and reduced the number of combiners/splitters. Now I have better reception on all channels without this amplifier. Do your research before you decide to install a signal amplifier for digital HDTV.
